What is this World of Leviathan

The Federation of Kalance, a large island country in the eastern hemisphere, serves as the world of Leviathan. Renowned for its beautiful landscapes, charming spirits, and diverse populace, its history is deeply rooted in the contrasting beliefs of the Azores and Nathair families. The Azores emphasize human potential, believing in perseverance and strong leadership to achieve greatness. In contrast, the Nathair value strength, wealth, and prestige, envisioning a society where the strong thrive and the weak fall. Both seek to improve the country in line with their ideals.

A gentle breeze drifted in through the open window, caressing my face as it passed by. The night sky was a mixture of purple and blue, illuminated by thousands of tiny stars glittering like scattered space dust. The moon was at the center just above a small mountain range, stationed there like a pendant suspended from the sky. It was close, and its enormous presence enshrouded the city as it illuminated every hidden corner and remote hollow, leaving no recess of the city to darkness. It was closer than I had ever seen before. I stared at it for a while, mesmerized by its beauty, studying its cratered appearance before eventually turning towards the city.

Leviathan takes place in Kalance, a country with a societal infrastructure and technology similar to modern-day society, but with spirits and spirit energy as its lifeblood, integrated into much of its technology. Kalance boasts lush rainforests, beautiful mountain ranges, wide plains, and some arid deserts. Most of the population resides in cities, with a few in villages on the outskirts. Throughout the story, the main character travels to various villages and cities, gathering information or finding hideouts to escape being hunted.

Spirits

Beautiful Fantastical Beasts

Spirits in Leviathan reside within humans, personifying their personality. These spirits, resembling animals or mythical creatures, can enhance battle strength and impart traits to their human hosts, such as a dragon spirit's resistance to physical attacks. While everyone has a spirit, not all can awaken it. Killing a human or their spirit destroys both. Each spirit possesses one of four elements: fire, wind, water, or earth, with rare spirits having two. Elemental abilities are easier to master than unleashing the spirit itself.
